Although business simulations enjoy increasing popularity inleadership education and development, their application inleadership research (likely due to the low availability of well-developed, complex simulations) is making slower progress. However, high degree of realism, adjustable settings andcontrol over the modeled context and restrictions makesimulations a useful tool of research. In the present work we introduce “FortFantastic” – a gamificated team-based simulation – and discuss the possibilities of its’ application to study leaders’ behaviors and effectiveness while leading virtual teams. We provide the description of this tool, its’ advantages and the possibilities of its’ application inresearch. |
